New Hebrot was officially born
On May 24, 2017, the official website of Hebrot announced that the merger of Hebrot and the Arabic steamship had been completed and that the two had officially become a company. The incident is of historic significance to the above two shipping companies and even to the global liner market.
In Herbrot's "To Herbrot and the Clients of Arab Ships", Herbrot said that the new Herbrot is one of the top five liner operators in the world and will provide customers with a series of important services worldwide with larger, more efficient and more environmentally friendly ships.
However, it is noteworthy that the integration of the internal systems and processes of the two companies can not be completed in the short term, so the two sides will continue to operate independently in the short term. It is expected that in July this year, the first service of the Arab steamship will be transferred to Hebrot, while other services will be transferred in the coming weeks.
It is understood that on June 29, 2016, Hebrot officially confirmed that Hebrot would merge with Arab ships, which has been officially merged for nearly a year. New Hebrot ranks fifth in the world, with a fleet of 226 ships and a total capacity of 1543,000 TEUs, accounting for 7.4% of the total global capacity.
Although Hebrot's move to integrate Arab ships did not improve its ranking in global liner capacity, it further narrowed the gap between Hebrot and COSCO, which ranked fourth (8.3% of global total capacity). At the same time, by integrating the container transport resources of Arab ships, it further consolidates its market position on the trade routes from Nordic to North America, and achieves synergies and reduces operating costs.
